Digitalization of learning environment and teacher training issues

Modern professional education faces challenges stemming, on the one hand, from the digital economy and, on the other, from the evolving expectations of new generations shaped by digital socialization and blended learning. The article considers a new stage in the development of digital learning environment — one related to big data, machine learning and artificial intelligence. The influence of advanced digital technologies on educational practices is analyzed through the lens of digital education methodology, which is based on an interdisciplinary synthesis of computer science, pedagogy and psychology. It is shown that while teachers employ digital tools to make adjustments to the learning process, only a small fraction of educators who actively engage with blended learning environments fully embrace the goals and values of digital transformation. The digital transformation of education requires a distinct form of conceptual pedagogical thinking. The questions pertaining to teacher training for digital transformation of education require immediate reflection and discussion within the professional community.
