Herzen University’s open education centers: Russian language teaching and Russian medium education in Asian states as a soft power instrument in foreign policy

The article considers how Russia implements its humanitarian policy through promoting Russian language learning and Russian medium education in the Eurasian space. The article analyzes the educational activities of Herzen University’s open education centers which constitute an instrument of soft power in the Asian region. The article contains proposals aimed at overcoming potential threats and creating conditions for the effective work of open education centers in Asian countries.
