The interaction between various fields of study in the educational policy of a modern university

The article focuses on the interaction between philosophy, humanities, social sciences and cultural studies in teacher education in Russia. The author considers this process in a variety of contexts: the global changes in society, the understanding of the new challenges in sociocultural knowledge, and the setting of new goals for teacher education. The article critically analyzes the neoliberal trends in Russian education, including teacher education, and provides arguments in favor of collaboration between academic departments that focus on human, social and cultural sciences. The author calls for a novel, integrative model of teacher education to address new and strategically significant challenges in the ideological, values-based, sociocultural, intellectual and moral training of both teachers and education students in Russia. This model should align with Russia’s contemporary civilizational advancement and Russia’s role in the global system.
